Netrika Eye Care · Outreach
Free eye screening, held where people live.
Our teams go to villages, slums and schools in East and West Champaran. People get their eyes checked close to home, and patients with cataract are operated on free of cost.
A doctor checks a patient’s eye by torchlight during a screening.
Much of the blindness in our community is curable and avoidable. A hospital cannot help someone who is unable to reach it, so we take eye care to them.
The screenings we run
Different people need different screenings. Each one is built around the people it serves.
General eye screening
Open to people from villages and slums. Patients with cataract are operated on free of cost.
School eye screening
Extensive screening in schools, so eye problems in children are found early. We hope to eliminate childhood myopia, and children also learn how to look after their eyes.
Diabetic eye disease screening
Special screening and awareness talks on diabetic retinopathy, with thorough retinopathy check-ups.
ROP screening and treatment
Free screening and treatment for people with ROP who belong to the lower strata of society.
Community and workplace sessions
Public events with local communities and NGOs, offering free screenings and consultations. Corporate sessions teach the value of regular check-ups and healthy visual habits, especially for screen-heavy jobs.
We have also proposed lifelong free eye treatment for children in orphanages and for mentally challenged children.
